Termites Extermination

Termites Extermination

Wood-eating insects are everywhere. They live and grow on wooden surfaces, wooden floors, furniture and wooden roofs. They are capable of feeding even with books, clothes and cardboard boxes, but of course their main ... menu usually consistis of furniture, wood, wooden floors and ceilings, frames, decorations, wooden icons, etc.

Woodworm, the public and dangerous!

They can be harmful to humans, and homes (especially those with wooden roofs) that are located near forests are considered to be in great risk. The Woodworm (matures and mats in 35 days) is the most important enemy of wood (along with the termite) and grows where there is no good ventilation and natural light, as well as in humid conditions. A characteristic sign of its presence is the white dust and the small holes on the wooden surfaces that it leaves in its crossing.

The woodworm infects the wood individually and with little growth, so the damage may take time in order to appear. But if not fought in time, it spreads and rapidly destroys large areas of wood.

Precisely because it is difficult to control wood-eaters on time (ie when the infestation has started), the best method of controlling them is prevention. Whether you have a problem with a wood-eating insect, or you want to protect your wooden surfaces as a precaution, Protect offers you a complete protection process, starting with checking and determining the size of the problem. Our company will suggest the appropriate method of consolidation to you and our qualified crew will guarantee its effectiveness.

Methods of controlling wood eating insects

Chemical Methods Insecticides: The application of highly residual liquid materials is the most effective way to treat wood-eating insects. The appropriate materials are injected with special injectors in the affected wood areas, while in order to prevent the infestation, additional infusion is made in the uninfected wood areas.

Fumigation: This is a special disinfestation application, through which control of the infestation is achieved when it is impossible to intervene with other methods. Fumigation is a radical and guaranteed control method in all cases of wood-eating insects, using phosphine, a chemical that acts in the form of a gas and is leathal to insects at all stages of their development under certain conditions of pressure and temperature. The applications provided by Protect are carried out by specialized crews with many years of experience in the handling of flue gases ανδ always under the guidance of an agronomist. Their duration, depending on the conditions, ranges from 3 to 7 days and after the end of the operations, a Fumigation certificate and a Technical Report are issued.

Gel coating:We apply gel coating when it is not possible to intervene with fumigation on wooden floors, furniture, wooden stairs, etc. The material is odorless and harmless for indoor use, and contains a special carrier that facilitates the absorption of active substances in the wood body (which is not visually altered), without releasing them into the environment.

Biological control

It is done with the usage of organisms (beneficial insects) that infect the larvae of woodpeckers and / or pheromones, for their monitoring, but also their mass trapping.

Heat Wrap – Thermal control with infrared technology

Heat Wrap fights naturally wood-eating insects in all their stages and in any type of wood. It consists of six panels, which can be adapted to any shape, and emit infrared waves which penetrate the wooden surface, dehydrate and ultimately kill wood-eaters without causing damage to the objects where it is applied.
